DO I QUALIFY?

Apartment rental rates and income limits are established by HUD (Housing and Urban Development). To qualify for an apartment, the household’s gross income may not exceed the maximum income limit per household size.

Income Limits

Single Person Household: $67,680.00 per year

Two-Person Household: $77,360.00 per year

Three-Person Household $87,040.00 per year

Rents: Includes water/sewer, electricity, taxes

Studio: $1,295 per month rent

One-Bedrooms: $1,495 per month rent

Two-Bedrooms: $1,955 per month rent

WHAT IS THE APPLICATION PROCEDURE?

Applications are available during normal business hours by fax, mail or walk-in. Applicants must report any changes in writing or by phone immediately.

IS THERE A WAITLIST?

Applications are accepted and reviewed to determine eligibility. If a unit is not available, the application is put on an active waitlist. When a unit becomes available, applicant(s) will be called for an interview. It is the applicant(s) responsibility to provide necessary documents needed to proceed with the verification process. Once the verification process is started, documents remain valid for 120 days.

DO YOU ACCEPT SECTION 8?

Yes, all Section 8 vouchers are accepted.

DOES THE BUILDING HAVE EMERGENCY FIRE SPRINKLERS?

Yes, the building is equipped with fire sprinklers, central fire alarm & speakers in all units and common areas.

ARE THE UNITS WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?

Yes, all units including bathrooms are fully wheelchair accessible.

IS RENT DETERMINED BY INCOME?

No, Kulana Hale rents are set regardless of income.

DO YOU ACCEPT PETS?

No.

IS PARKING AVAILABLE?

Depending on availability, parking is $60/month.

MY WIFE IS YOUNGER THAN I AM, SHE’S ONLY 50. CAN WE BOTH LIVE AT KULANA HALE?

No, ALL members of the household needs to be at least 55 years of age.
